Australia’s official state animal, the hairy-nosed wombat, and Sturt's Desert Pea, its floral emblem.
 South
Australia (abbreviated SA) is in the south central part of the country.
It covers some of the most arid parts of the island continent and is
the fourth largest of Australia's six states and two territories. With
nearly 1.6 million people, the state comprises less than 10% of the
Australian population and ranks fifth in population among the states
and territories. The majority of its people reside in the state capital
and largest city, Adelaide, with most of the remainder settled in
fertile areas along the south-eastern coast and River Murray.The state's origins are unique in Australia as a freely-settled, planned British province rather than a convict settlement or penal colony. Official settlement began on 28 December 1836, when the state was proclaimed at The Old Gum Tree by Governor John Hindmarsh.  Tasmania and its Devil!While
many people may think of a certain Warner Brothers cartoon when they hear of the
Tasmanian Devil, this carnivorous marsupial can be quite frightening. It is ferocious, and has a loud and disturbing screech! The

features the state of Tasmania, its emblematic devil, and the flowers
of the Tasmanian Bluegum.
 Tasmania
is both an Australian state and an island of the same name. It is
located 150 miles south of the eastern side of the island continent,
being separated from it by Bass Strait. Tasmania is promoted as the
"Natural State" and the "Island of Inspiration" owing to its large and
relatively unspoiled natural environment. Legally, almost 37% of the
land in Tasmania is in reserves, National Parks and World Heritage
Sites, including the Tasmanian Wilderness Heritage Site, a UNESCO World
Heritage site. The island measures 226 miles long from the northernmost
point to the southernmost point and 190 miles from west to east. The
capital and largest city is Hobart.The coin pictures a full color panorama of Cradle Mountain National Park and the icy waters of Dove Lake, along with the Tasmanian Devil, the official state animal.
