Celebrate Australia with Limited Mintage Special Edition Silver Dollars!
Released as a Coin Show Special Edition for the Canberra show this weekend, the Australian Capital Territory, Canberra and Cockatoo silver dollar is a sure winner! With a single coin mintage of only 2,500, this newest addition to the extremely popular Celebrate Australia Program combines a highly popular animal motif and superior design that will surely delight all coin collectors! The
coin features a colored illustration of Australia’s Parliament
House, situated on Canberra’s Capital Hill. The design includes
the Royal Bluebell, the Territory’s floral emblem, and a Gang-gang Cockatoo, its official territorial animal, all rendered by renowned wildlife artist Elise Martinson (designer of the amazing Bush Babies series!) Previous coin show special editions have sold out quickly at the mint, and are already escalating in value! This new Color Silver Dollar won't last long! ![]() Beautiful color, limited mintage of only 2,500, and the unusual marsupial wombat make this a great investment! This sixth coin in the Celebrate Australia Silver Proof
series features a landmark of South Australia, a full color view of
historic St. Peter's Cathedral in Adelaide. The design includes South
Australia’s official state animal, the hairy-nosed wombat, and Sturt's Desert Pea, its floral emblem.
South
Australia (abbreviated SA) is in the south central part of the country.
It covers some of the most arid parts of the island continent and is
the fourth largest of Australia's six states and two territories. With
nearly 1.6 million people, the state comprises less than 10% of the
Australian population and ranks fifth in population among the states
and territories. The majority of its people reside in the state capital
and largest city, Adelaide, with most of the remainder settled in
fertile areas along the south-eastern coast and River Murray. The state's origins are unique in Australia as a freely-settled, planned British province rather than a convict settlement or penal colony. Official settlement began on 28 December 1836, when the state was proclaimed at The Old Gum Tree by Governor John Hindmarsh. Based on previous performance of coins in this series, we expect this coin to go quickly!
![]() While
many people may think of a certain Warner Brothers cartoon when they hear of the
Tasmanian Devil, this carnivorous marsupial can be quite frightening. It is ferocious, and has a loud and disturbing screech! The
seventh Celebrate Australia Silver Proof to be released, this design
features the state of Tasmania, its emblematic devil, and the flowers
of the Tasmanian Bluegum.
Tasmania
is both an Australian state and an island of the same name. It is
located 150 miles south of the eastern side of the island continent,
being separated from it by Bass Strait. Tasmania is promoted as the
"Natural State" and the "Island of Inspiration" owing to its large and
relatively unspoiled natural environment. Legally, almost 37% of the
land in Tasmania is in reserves, National Parks and World Heritage
Sites, including the Tasmanian Wilderness Heritage Site, a UNESCO World
Heritage site. The island measures 226 miles long from the northernmost
point to the southernmost point and 190 miles from west to east. The
capital and largest city is Hobart. The coin pictures a full color panorama of Cradle Mountain National Park and the icy waters of Dove Lake, along with the Tasmanian Devil, the official state animal. The single coin mintage of just 2,500 once again should mean a quick sell out! Get yours now before they're gone! |

Celebrate Australia Coin Show Editions - While they last!
If you missed any of the previous four Celebrate Australia Special Editions, here is your chance to get them before they become scarce! We still have a few (in some cases very few) of each of the previous coins available here to help you complete your collection! Each features a brilliant design, full-color motifs, and single-coin mintages of 2,500! #1 - Queensland with Sea Turtle
The
first and one of the most popular designs in the series! The coin
depicts a full-color composite image of the skyline of the city of
Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and a coral reef. The design includes a sea turtle,
a beloved sight for divers near the Great Barrier Reef, as the turtle
populations have been threatened with extinction and are critically
endangered. Long Sold Out at the Mint, we found a few more of these to offer, but they won't last long!![]() Who wouldn't fall for the adorable little penguin
pictured on the Victoria Special Edition? Star of its very own "Penguin
Parade" on Phillip Island, the penguin is a symbol of southeastern
Australia, and their evening pilgrimages to their home bring in a
half a million visitors a year! Also featured is the Victorian-era
Flinders Street Train Station with one of the city's iconic trams.![]() #3 - ANA Edition Crocodile
This
special American Numismatic Association (ANA) Special Edition was
issued for the ANA World's Fair of Money in Boston this August. The saltwater crocodile
is an opportunistic apex predator capable of taking any animal that
enters its territory, either in the water or on dry land. Feared and
renowned for its immense, powerful jaws and ambush tactics, this is one
of the few crocodiles you want to reach out for with your hand!![]() #4 - Sydney Opera House and Koala!
Straight from the Sydney ANDA (Australian Numismatic Dealers
Association) Coin Show in August, here is a stunning coin with the
famed Sydney
Opera House and Harbor Bridge in full color, along with the lovable
Koala bear, known the world over as an emblem of Australia! Not only is
the coin a great value because Koala bears are so highly collected, but the mintage of 2,500 makes it even better! |
