2011 Koala with Berlin Bear Coat of Arms Privy Mark
In addition, this unique coin was issued as a coin show special at the World Money Fair (WMF) in Berlin, meaning that the vast majority were sold into the European market, and won't be coming out any time soon! Adding to the investment appeal of
this unique release is the extremely low mintage limit of only 50,000. This is only 10% of the mintage limit of the 2011 Kookaburra
1 Ounce Silver coin (and that coin will sell out at that level). We
readily recommend this special Koala as a bankable buy-and-hold.The Berlin Coat of Arms The
special World Money Fair edition Koala features a privy mark above the
two koalas on the coin. This mark shows the coat of arms of the German
city of Berlin, including a rampant heraldic bear on a shield. Get
this first-ever Koala privy mark at our sale price - or stock up
and save with original mint rolls of 20 coins at a significant
discount! All coins are fully encapsulated, even in the rolls!

|
The World Money Fair in Berlin is one of the world's largest coin shows, and to celebrate, the Perth Mint and Talisman Coins are proud to offer this unique and truly scarce precious metals set, with a total mintage of only 2,000! This is far lower than the 5,000 of last year's WMF Special Edition Set - and that set sold out extremely quickly! Each set contains one each of the 2011 Kookaburra and 2011 Koala 1 Ounce Pure Silver Coins, two animal motifs and among the most highly collectible series of precious silver beauties! The sets are individually serial numbered and feature the high quality packaging one expects from Australia's precious metal experts. Each oversize, full-color presentation pack encapsulates the two coins and depicts a Kookaburra and a Koala, two of Australia's most recognizable animals, as well as the stark beauty of their natural habitat. And they are inexpensive! At our special sale price, these two, one-year-only type coins of limited mintage are a tremendous value! Only 2,000 sets available worldwide! |

Australia 2011 Bush Babies - Baby Bilby Color Silver Proof

|
Perth's Hottest Series of the Year!
Get
this adorable baby Bilby (an original work of art!), the fourth in
the wildly popular new Bush Babies series of pure silver proofs! Celebrating five
adorable baby animals, the stunning new Bush Babies Program is selling out even faster than the Sea Life - The Reef Series that preceded it. Sold out at the Mint in hours! The
bilby is a unique animal, looking like a cross between a rabbit, a
jerboa, and a bandicoot. There are (or, more correctly, were) only two
species of bilby - one of which, sadly, is now extinct. Like three of
the other four mammals of the Bush Babies Program, the bilby is a
marsupial.Bilbies are nocturnal omnivores that do not need to drink water, as they get all the moisture they need from their food, which includes insects and larvae, seeds, spiders, bulbs, fruit, fungi, and very small animals. Most food is found by digging or scratching in the soil, and using their very long tongues. Your Own Personal Art Gallery! Another clever innovation (and a neat little bonus!) is the colorfully illustrated outer box shipper. Each features a different, original commission by the designer of the coins, artist Elise Martinson (please see our website for a short biography of the artist). When lined-up in release order, the outer boxes will form a gallery of original artworks of the five baby critters by this well-known, Australian animal artist. A special, five coin display box (shown at right) is available at a nominal additional charge. This is a superb way to protect and present all five coins in their full color, illustrated cases. |

2011 Royal Australian Navy Silver Dollar & Badge Set

Centenary of the Royal Australian Navy!
Commemorate the centennial of the historic Royal Australian Navy. The design includes a triptych - three separate seafaring scenes. To the upper left, sailors and officers of the Navy's earliest days pose for a formal photograph in their dress uniforms. To the upper right is the destroyer HMAS Yarra or HMAS Parramatta (we can't tell which, since they were nearly-identical River-class sister ships and the pennant number is not painted on the hull). Below, the modern, oceangoing frigate HMAS Anzac (the third ship to bear this historic and significant name), armed to the hilt with guns, missiles and torpedoes, operates its Seahawk helicopter. This full proof silver dollar with a very limited mintage has fields that are deeply mirrored, with the design struck in frosty white cameo relief, further enhancing the coin's already handsome design. This set also includes a replica of the official Royal Australian Navy badge, struck in copper and plated in 24-karat gold, with red, blue and green enamel! It depicts an anchor and the St. Edwards (Queen's) Crown. The Royal Australian Navy This year the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) celebrates a
century of defending the island continent in war and representing its
national interests around the globe in peace. Originally intended for
local defense, the navy was granted the title "Royal Australian Navy"
in 1911, and became increasingly responsible for defense of the region.
Today, the RAN is one of the largest and most sophisticated naval
forces in the Pacific region, with a significant presence in the Indian
Ocean and worldwide operations in support of military campaigns and
peacekeeping missions. ![]() Commemorate
the centennial of Duntroon, the Royal Military College of Australia
responsible for training cadets for service as officers in the
Australian Army. This design depicts an army officer in dress uniform
and holding a saber (in silhouette) facing three roles: an officer in
the field, a commander and a father and family man. It also features a beautiful gold-plated replica of the RMC badge!
![]() Long-Lost World War II Cruiser! This one ounce, pure silver proof from the Perth Mint commemorates the discovery of His Majesty's Australian Ship Sydney. Known in Australia as Sydney II, as it was the second cruiser to bear the name, she is one of the most storied warships in Australian history and the center of a decades-old mystery that was finally resolved in 2008. This is a beautiful proof with deeply mirrored fields, and frosty white cameo relief - you really have to see it to appreciate it fully! Read more about the fabled cruiser HMAS Sydney and its plight on our web site! ![]() 2010 ANZAC Day $1 features Royal Australian Navy Destroyer
To honor veterans everywhere, both those living and their fallen comrades, the Perth Mint of Australia has released this significant military coin celebrating ANZAC Day. This is the Australian and New Zealand equivalent of our Memorial, Veterans, and Remembrance Days. The design is interesting, particularly to sailors, those who have served in the navy, and those fascinated by warships. The HMAS Parramatta, a River-class torpedo boat destroyer built just before the outbreak of World War I, is portrayed below the bust portrait of a leading seaman of the same era. It is his sacrifice, and those of his brothers in arms who have preceded him in death (as represented by the bugler playing Taps in the background) who have secured the future liberty and happiness for the freedom loving nations of the world. ![]() 2009 ANZAC Day Still Available
The 2009 ANZAC Veterans Memorial $1 sold out at the Mint, but we still have a few available! The 2009 design is both interesting and symbolic. A young child (symbolizing the future) sits on the lap of an aged former serviceman (representing all who have served in the military in the cause of freedom). You can read more about the origin and significance of ANZAC Day (Australian Veteran's Day) on our web site. This poignant 2009 design is only available while supplies remain! |
