William Blake (the famous English poet, philosopher, artist and printer) perhaps expressed it best in his poem "The Tyger" (love that archaic spelling!), from his masterpiece Songs of Innocence and Experience:  Tyger Tyger burning bright,In the forests of the night; What immortal hand or eye Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
